I recently have been described as a "bubbly glass of effervescence," a characterization that seems to encapsulate my vibrant and creative personality. My journey into photography, much like my approach to life, is a testament to my unceasing desire for self-expression and the allure of capturing life's moments.
Creativity runs in my veins from day one. Whether crafting latch hook pillows or building dollhouse furniture with meticulous detail, I've always had this knack for bringing things to life. These creative bursts are where I find my ultimate happy place, where I'm laser-focused on making magic happen.
As a military kid, constantly on the move. My life was all about change and adaptation: New places, cultures, and communities. It's no wonder that my love for travel grew like wildfire.
My academic journey started as a chemistry major at University, full of potential, but something was missing. So, I took a detour and embraced a double major in psychology and theater arts. Theater design was my revelation—a fusion of history, literature, art, research, drawing, painting, and storytelling symbolism. My academic path led me to graduate school, a thrilling time of intense learning and creative growth.
But life had its twists and turns, and my focus shifted to family, but creativity never left my side. That's where photography swooped in to save the day! It became my storytelling method, capturing fleeting moments and preserving memories. Photography became my refuge, a way to stay connected to my creative self amidst life's responsibilities. It's a reminder that creativity can thrive in the every day, in candid moments, and in the stories waiting to be told through a camera lens.
Over time, my photography evolved into a documentary style—stories through images, capturing the essence of people, places, and moments. Each frame became a page in a visual narrative, a testament to the power of the human experience. In this ever-unfolding chapter of my life, I've learned that creativity isn't limited by a single medium or moment. It's a force that adapts, transforms, and finds its way into the fabric of our existence, helping us tell the story of our lives with style and flair!
In my quest to discover the world, I found myself repeatedly asking people about their favorite travel destinations, and guess what I heard a lot. "America's National Parks." That piqued my curiosity going, big time. So, in a bold move, I decided to homeschool my son and hit the road, embarking on an epic journey across the United States. Our travels took us to the heart of America's National Parks, and let me tell you, it was mind-blowing! From Arches' iconic red rock formations to Yellowstone's geothermal wonders, we soaked in the diversity of ecosystems, landscapes, and wildlife.
And that's when my fascination with wildlife began. In the heart of nature's grand theater, I found myself as the storyteller. The scenes that unfold before my lens are like chapters in an epic tale of survival, beauty, and the delicate balance of life.
I've chased sunsets, wildlife, and candid human moments to the ends of the earth, thanks to my insatiable love for travel. My camera lens is the bridge between my mind and the world's beauty, a storytelling tool that documents my effervescent life journey. As I keep capturing life's moments, big and small, I'm sharing my unique perspective with the world. It's not just about images; it's about sharing a world filled with bubbling creativity and effervescent enthusiasm, one frame at a time.
Every click captures a heartbeat, a stolen second in the wild, and preserves it for eternity. It's in these moments that we glimpse the true essence of life—strength, vulnerability, and the raw beauty of existence.
As I share these stories through the lens, I'm on a mission to kindle that same flame of care and compassion in others. I want you to feel what I feel when I witness a lioness teaching her cubs the art of survival or seeing a sea turtle hatchling taking its first steps towards the ocean. It blends awe, admiration, and a profound sense of responsibility.
